Griswold Law focuses on receiverships. Attorney Richardson “Red” Griswold is commonly appointed by California courts as a Receiver or Partition Referee. He acts as a health and safety receiver, rents and profits receiver, post-judgment receiver and partition referee. In addition, Mr. Griswold represents classes of individuals on a limited basis in class action matters.
Prior to founding Griswold Law, Mr. Griswold sharpened his legal skills at several Southern California law firms focusing on real estate law, employment law and business litigation, as well as in the legal departments of the San Diego Padres and The Upper Deck Company. He also previously served as Vice President of a commercial and residential property management company, at the time ranked 15th largest in the state of California.
Education and Membership
Mr. Griswold is a member of the California State Bar and licensed to practice law in all California state courts, as well as the United States District Courts in the Southern District, Central District, and Eastern District of California. Mr. Griswold earned his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis and his law degree, magna cum laude, from California Western School of Law in San Diego. Mr. Griswold is also a licensed California Real Estate Broker.
Mr. Griswold is a 2017-2018 Board Member and Officer of the California Receivers Forum. He is also a Board Member and Officer of the San Diego chapter of the California Receivers Forum (San Diego Receivers Forum).
Mr. Griswold is an active member of the San Diego Hoarding Collaborative (SDHC), as well as a member of the San Diego affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI).
Pro Bono and Volunteer Efforts
Mr. Griswold volunteers with the Juvenile Court Book Club (JCBC) in San Diego, which is a group of volunteers that facilitate and participate in a monthly book club with teenage boys in juvenile hall.
Mr. Griswold is also a classroom presenter for the Mock Trial Video Presentation Program at elementary schools across San Diego County through the San Diego County Bar Association’s Children At Risk Committee.
Further, Mr. Griswold volunteers with the California Innocence Project by reviewing prison inmate files to investigate claims of innocence.
